Cars Blog Redesign

About the project

We have maintained a cars blog, a simple WP site, since we began new cars. We added a generic articles about vehicles for example "what to look when you want to purchase second hand vehicles" which was fairly popular. But as we added a new cars section all we had was generic information like specification, variants and other information which were all available in other competetiors as well. 

The idea was not to keep it a simple blog but have deep links within our classified & new cars platform. Also it can help both ways but creating a passive customer into an active user as well as help classified users make a better buying decision.

Competetive Analysis

There weren't many competetiors in used cars platform as pretty much olx & quikr dominate the market and upcoming platform like cars24 follow a very different business model.

In case of new cars the dominant leaders in the market were cardekho, cartrade and their  subsidaries. There more focus was on cars launches, automobile news and other related content. Team BHP was other market leader dominant in user generated reviews and.

Help users make better buying and selling decisions by proving relevant content to users. 

Brainstorming

The idea in itself seemed interesting as a person viewing an article would help up provide him contextual links. For example someone who is looking to buy a used car on our platform, we could provide him what aspects he should consider when buying a used cars (Do's and Don't of buying cars, under the hood details and etc.) 

Also a person who came across our blog reading the an article about automatic transmission would be interested in buying a vehicle with automatic transmission. This pattern can be extended to car servicing and other related services.
